From Runway to Table: Fashion Week Recap

If you’re like me, you couldn’t take your eyes off the gorgeous styles and innovative designs at this year’s fashion week events. It’s so exciting to see both established and new “houses” display their latest collections in runway shows and learn what trends the fashion industry dubs “in” and “out” for the season. As purveyors of “table fashions” we at BBJ Linen love seeing the creative concepts in terms of color, fabric, texture and draping to create looks that are truly works of art. In keeping with that spirit, I thought our lovely readers would enjoy a round up of our favorite Fashion Week 2015 trends, complete with coordinating BBJ Linen table fashions.

Tome

The outfit's hues can be mimicked by Purple Smoke Shantung table linen and Champagne Cotier table overlay

This look is from New York designer Tome (Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo) features a classic trench coat in a studding shade of iridescent violet. The outfit is both ultra-modern and timeless, especially when paired with complimentary hues of creamy taupe and gold. Our exquisite Purple Smoke Shantung table linen and Champagne Cotier table overlay can give your event table that same haute couture look.

Prabal Gurung

Try our Beige Infinity table linen design

Nepalese American designer Prabal Gurung has created a lush, layered ensemble with sumptuous furs, patterned knitwear and a sheer, layered midi skirt for a feminine touch. The sophisticated damask look of our Beige Infinity table linen design creates similar illusions. With its subtle cream and tan hues and geometric beauty, you can pair it with just about any color of the rainbow.

Red Check table linen

In a look that is both fashionable and daring, Prabal Gurung put together a striking combination of red on red. We love pairing similar hues, such as our Mandarin Yuma table linen under our Saffron Botanical table overlay. Richer and a bit darker than our other oranges, the Mandarin Yuma is easy to pair with other colors. It looks gorgeous in photography, and adds a touch of sophisticated brightness to any occasions. While BBJ Linen loves vivid botanical graphics, there is something about a single, wonderful color. The Saffron Botanical overlay is reminiscent of modern, tapa-inspired prints of the Polynesian islands—perfect for adding texture and visual interest to any table setting.

Marissa Webb

Combine a Black Shantung table linen and a White Taurus table cuff for contrasting appearance.

The black and white trend seems to be everywhere, from independent labels to big box retailers. And I’m not complaining! What makes this season's take on the classic color combination interesting, though, are the various textures, patterns and silhouettes, such as this look from Marissa Webb. For a gorgeously contrasting table, try pairing our White Aries table cuff, White Gemini table cuff, and White Taurus table cuff over our the silky texture of our Black Shantung table linen. Our brand new Zodiac line is created with a faux leather rich in a warm white with a textured, or flocked, black pattern. Marvelously monochromatic!

Here are a few more trends that caught our eye:

Striped Menswear-Inspired Shirtdresses

This classic shape was reinvented by designers Altuzarra, Charlotte Ronson and Rebecca Minkoff. Here at BBJ, we offer table coverings of every stripe (pun intended) from single tone such as our Burgundy Imperial Stripe to the trendy pattern of our Gold Sequin Chevron.

Yellow

From amber and canary to saffron and marigold, there is a shade of yellow for everyone. A couple of our favorites are the bold Daffodil Miramar and luxurious Yellow Lamour table linens.

Gingham

Keep your stylish event in check (I’m on a roll today!) with this fun look seen from Diane von Furstenberg to Oscar de la Renta. Add a dose of charm to your table with our Yellow Check table linen or bring some classic picnic flair with our Red Check table linen.
